37 weeks!

Hello everyone :-)  HAPPY 2011!  I can't believe we are now in the month of Sophie's birth!  It has been a little while since I last posted because we have not had internet in our new place until this morning!  I was luckily able to do email and facebook on my iPhone.

Yesterday, we hit the 37 week mark.  It is pretty amazing to me that Sophie is now considered full term.  It could really happen at any time, but I keep telling her that I still have a few things I need to do before she comes :-)  Our place is finally looking like a home.  I will take pictures soon and post them.  Our friend, Erica, is also taking our maternity photos tomorrow so I look forward to having those and posting those as well!

We have a Dr. appt. on Wednesday and get to have another ultrasound!  It has been almost 5 months since we had one, so we are pretty excited!  I'm sure we will have a lot to post after that as well.  Some amazing memories are coming very soon! We thank God everyday for such a miracle.  I continue to pray for a safe, smooth labor and delivery and a healthy, beautiful Sophie!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful time at my grandparent's house for Christmas!  It's hard to believe that Sophie will be almost 11 months old the next time we celebrate Christmas!  WHAT?!

35 weeks and about 35 days to go!

Look how cute she is in there :-) Of course this isn't her, but it is pretty amazing how developed she is now!
At 35 weeks, most of Sophie's basic physical development is now complete and now just continues to put on weight :-)  She is over 5 lbs. and about 18 in. long.

I am still feeling great besides becoming tired easier and struggling to move around/get up and sleep.  We see the baby Dr. every week now starting on Tuesday and also get to meet our pediatrician on Tuesday as well!

We moved A LOT of stuff into our new place today!  We had awesome help from Andrew, Malia, Erica and Mom and Dad.  Thanks again guys!  The next big load (furniture) goes in on Monday when Drew is here!  After that day, we will probably start sleeping there.  We already love it and know it will be good for our little family.

We hope you all have a magical Christmas.  We will be at my parents house on XMAS eve and my grandparents house on XMAS day.  On December 29th, we drive down to SD  to be with Jon's family and on New Year's Eve or Day we get to meet Lindy and Will's adorable twin girls that were born on December 21st!  Congrats guys!

Merry Christmas!

34 weeks

We are at 34 weeks!  About 42 days and counting....pretty hard to believe!  The Dr. measured me a week ahead of schedule yesterday, but isn't too concerned yet.  She said she would just check again in 2 weeks and if I am still measuring a week ahead, she will do an ultrasound.  She also said we could travel to So Cal from Dec. 29th-Jan. 2nd.  She said she is supposed to tell patients not to travel far after 35 weeks but it was ultimately up to us.  She even mentioned she moved states at 38.5 weeks so you just have to take your chances.  We will pray that Sophie decides to stay in as long as she should and our travels will be smooth and safe.  We want to see Jon's family one last time before she comes and also see 2 if not 3 new babies being born to our good friends Shannon and Lindy in then next week or so!

We found out today that we are moving to Los Gatos on Dec. 23!!!  We will have to post pics when the place is starting to look like a home.  It may be crazy to move right now, but it is so much more accommodating for our growing family with a garage, yard, laundry in our place!!!, an extra room, and an extra bathroom!  Also, we will have our current place until January 14th so we can take the moving process slow.

Tomorrow is my last day of work until April!  I am throwing the class a holiday party and a couple of parents are putting together a mini baby shower for me as well.  It will be fun to have the class be involved in the games they have planned :-)  It's hard to believe I won't be working, but I am ready to have some time to prepare for Sophie especially now that we are setting up a new home for her!  It has been such a blessing to work at Sartorette and I will miss the staff and students for sure.

Sophie now weighs close to 5 lbs. (like the average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 in. long.  Her fat layers-which will help regulate her body temperature once she is born-are filling out, making her rounder.  Her skin is also smoother that ever.  Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well.

33 weeks

We are 33 weeks today!  I am still feeling great though I am noticing myself waddling more and becoming tired quicker.  Teaching is taking it out me, that is for sure!  I only have 6 more days though....

Baby Center says Sophie is a little over 4 lbs. now (the weight of a pineapple!)

She has also passed the 17 in. mark and her skeleton is hardening!

We have another Dr. appt. on Wednesday and we are hoping she okays a trip down to SD over XMAS as well as another ultrasound.  I will post her responses in next week's blog.  :-)  Thanks for checking in on our baby blog!  Have a wonderful day!
